Buying a Camper Van From Out of State: How It Works With Beachside

Buying a Beachside van from another state mostly happens before you travel. You see the van on a video call, line up financing online, and then either pick it up at the Atlantic Beach shop near Jacksonville or have it delivered, with delivery quoted by distance. Beachside Custom Vans works with buyers across the U.S., and the steps below are the same whether you live in Georgia or Oregon.

Two ways to buy

A finished van. Vans listed on the vans for sale page, such as Koa, a 2026 Drifter on the Sprinter 144 AWD, are already built. There is no design phase. A $5,000 nonrefundable deposit holds the van while you arrange payment. You buy at the listed price and pay in full, or finance through IntoRV. Beachside charges no dealer or doc fee, so the listed price plus tax, tag, title and registration is the whole price. If you want items added before pickup, you pay a deposit that covers those add-ons and the balance at pickup.

A 2027 model. The Drifter, Oasis and Gamer Van are built to order with your finishes and systems:

  1. A consultation call to choose the model and talk through how you'll use it
  2. A $5,000 nonrefundable deposit to reserve a build slot
  3. A design phase of about two weeks for finishes, systems, exterior gear and budget
  4. A build of 6 to 10 weeks in the Atlantic Beach shop, with weekly updates
  5. Turnover, at the shop or by delivery

Cash buyers pay for the van and materials after design, then labor every two weeks, and the deposit is credited on the final invoice. Financed buyers make their down payment after design, and the $5,000 deposit counts toward it.

Step 1: See the van without flying in

Start with a consultation request. For a remote buyer, the team can walk you through a van on a live video call, and the model pages have video walkthroughs. Good questions for that call:

  • Where do the water, electrical and heating systems live, and how do I reach them?
  • What does the bed feel like in daytime and night setup?
  • What can and can't change in the layout?
  • Which upgrades do buyers in my climate usually add?
  • What happens if something needs attention after I'm home?

If you'd like to see a van in person, visits are by appointment, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Step 2: Line up financing early

Beachside works with IntoRV, which starts with a soft credit check that doesn't affect your score and can finance the van, the build, tax and title together. Getting pre-approved before your design meeting means the budget you design to is the budget you can close on.

Step 3: Pick up near Jacksonville, or take delivery

Pickup. Plan on a full day at the shop. Before turnover, the van goes to a Mercedes-Benz dealer for an alignment and a systems check, and the team works through a final punch list. At turnover, the team walks you through every system: power, water, heat and air, and the controls. One easy option is to fly into Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and drive home.

Delivery. If you'd rather not make the trip, the van can be shipped to you by a professional transport company, and the cost is quoted by distance. Ask for a delivery quote early so it's part of your budget, and schedule a video walkthrough of the systems for the day it arrives.

Step 4: Title, registration and sales tax

In Beachside's process, the van is titled as a motorhome. Out-of-state buyers generally pay sales tax and register the van in their home state. Rules differ by state, so check with your state's motor vehicle office before you budget.

Step 5: Warranty and service far from Florida

Every Beachside model van carries a 2-year builder warranty covering craftsmanship and installed systems, including Koa, the finished 2026 Drifter for sale. The components keep their own manufacturer warranties, and the Mercedes-Benz chassis is covered by Mercedes.

Builder warranty work is done at the Atlantic Beach shop. If you live far away, talk through how a repair would be handled before you buy; the shop agrees on a plan in writing for remote owners. At turnover you'll also get the everyday basics, such as charging from shore power and getting the water system ready for freezing weather.

What to have ready for your first call

  • Your budget range and when you'd like to have the van
  • How many people will travel and sleep in it
  • Whether you need an indoor shower
  • Where you live and where you'll use the van most
  • Pickup or delivery, and whether you plan to finance

Next step

See what's available now, or compare the 2027 models. When you're ready, request a consultation or call (954) 309-0195. Tell the shop where you're buying from, and the team will lay out timing, pickup or delivery, and cost for your state.

Tell the shop how you’ll use the van

Who’s coming, how long the trips run and whether you’ll work on the road. The team will help you choose the right 2027 model and plan its finishes and upgrades, and shop visits in Atlantic Beach are by appointment.
