Beachside Custom Vans designs and builds premium camper vans in a shop minutes from the ocean in Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville. More than 55 full builds later, every job is still done in-house.
Who builds your van
Beachside Custom Vans is owned by Alex Jacobson. Before spec models, custom builds were how the shop started, and they still are: the team designs every layout, cuts the cabinetry, wires the power and plumbs the water in the same Atlantic Beach shop.
Buyers come from across the country, and plenty of them come to the shop first. Visits are welcome by appointment, Monday to Friday.
I first met Alex (owner of BCV) after a phone conversation where he invited me to come tour their shop. He spent two hours with me showing me the shop, introducing me to his team members, and allowing me to actually step inside a few of their projects at different stages of the build process.
Designed in 3D, cut on a CNC router
Every interior component is modeled in Fusion 360 and cut on the shop's CNC router, which is why the cabinetry fits the curve of a Sprinter wall the first time. Custom clients review the whole van in 3D before a single panel is cut.
Electrical, plumbing, woodwork and finishing all stay in-house, with the same team and the same processes on every van.
